RAMS Content Generation

AI content generation creates a complete RAMS document from a structured description of your work. This page covers full document generation, method statement writing, and COSHH assessment generation.

The most powerful AI feature. Describe your work and AI generates every section of your RAMS.

  1. Click New RAMS and select your project and site.
  2. Choose AI Generation as the creation method.
  3. Complete the guided wizard with these details:
FieldWhat to enter
Industry and work typeSelect from the dropdown (e.g. electrical, mechanical, demolition)
Site typeIndoor, outdoor, rooftop, confined space, highway, etc.
DurationHow long the work will take
Working hoursStandard hours, nights, weekends
Worker countNumber of people on site
Equipment listPlant and equipment you will use
Proximity to publicWhether members of the public will be nearby
  1. Optionally upload site photos — AI analyses these using vision to identify additional hazards and site conditions.
  2. AI asks 3-5 follow-up questions to fill in gaps and improve accuracy. Answer these as specifically as you can.
  3. Click Generate Document.

AI returns a complete, structured document including:

  • Title and work scope — based on your description
  • Method statement — numbered steps covering mobilisation, each work phase, and demobilisation
  • All operational sections — access/egress, personnel, equipment, PPE, emergency procedures, etc.
  • Risk assessment — 10-20 hazards with severity/likelihood scores and control measures
  • COSHH assessments — if hazardous substances are involved
  • PPE requirements — matched to the identified hazards
  • Permits required — based on the work type and hazards
  • Emergency procedures — tailored to the site and work

The document opens in draft status with a banner: “This document was AI-generated and must be reviewed by a competent person before use.”

A compliance check runs automatically in the background — you will see the score when it completes.

Cost: 5 credits.

  • Be specific about the work — include heights, voltages, substances, distances, and quantities where relevant
  • List all equipment — AI uses your equipment list to identify associated hazards (e.g. MEWP → work at height, angle grinder → hot works)
  • Upload photos — a photo of the site entrance, work area, or existing conditions helps AI identify access issues, overhead services, or confined spaces
  • Answer follow-up questions carefully — these are targeted to fill gaps AI detected in your description

If you already have your risk assessment and operational sections but need help writing the method statement:

  1. Open your document in the editor.
  2. Navigate to the Methodology section.
  3. Click Generate Method Statement.
  4. AI writes step-by-step safe working procedures based on your work scope and hazard list.

The generated method statement includes:

  • Mobilisation — travel, unloading, welfare setup
  • Site setup — establishing the work area, barriers, signage
  • Work phases — each stage of the work, in order
  • Safety hold points — stages where work must stop for checks
  • Demobilisation — clearing up, removing materials, site handback
  • References to control measures — each step references the relevant controls from your risk assessment

Cost: 3 credits.

Generate a complete COSHH assessment for any hazardous substance:

  1. In the COSHH section of your document, click Add COSHH Assessment.
  2. Enter the substance name (e.g. “two-pack epoxy resin” or “silica dust”).
  3. Click Generate.

AI produces a full assessment including:

SectionWhat it covers
Physical formLiquid, solid, dust, fume, gas, etc.
GHS classificationsHazard statements (H-statements) and pictograms
Health effectsShort-term and long-term effects of exposure
Exposure routesInhalation, skin contact, ingestion, eye contact
Control measuresEngineering controls, ventilation, containment
Workplace exposure limitsWEL/OEL values where applicable
Monitoring requirementsWhen air monitoring or health surveillance is needed
Emergency proceduresSpill response, fire fighting, first aid
First aid measuresSpecific first aid for each exposure route
DisposalHow to dispose of waste safely

Cost: 2 credits per substance.

Generate a simplified site briefing from an approved RAMS:

  1. Open the approved RAMS.
  2. Click Generate > Toolbox Talk.
  3. AI creates a plain-English briefing covering the key hazards, essential controls, PPE, emergency procedures, and discussion points.

Toolbox talks are written at a lower reading level so all site workers can understand them. They can be translated into other languages for multilingual teams.

Cost: 2 credits.

See Exporting Documents for more on toolbox talks.
