In billing settings
Section titled “In billing settings”Go to Settings > Billing for a more detailed view:
- Monthly allowance and current balance
- Daily usage trend graph
- Usage breakdown by feature type
- Usage breakdown by team member (Admins and Owners only)
- Next billing date and reset
How credits are consumed
Section titled “How credits are consumed”- Credits are deducted when the AI action completes, not when you request it
- If an AI action fails (e.g. network error), no credits are deducted
- Credits come from a shared organisation pool — they are not per-user
- Automatic compliance checks (after AI generation or on contractor submission) use credits from the document author’s organisation
Monthly reset
Section titled “Monthly reset”- Credits reset on your billing date each month
- Unused credits do not roll over — they expire at the end of each billing period
- Your billing date is the anniversary of when you started your plan
Buying additional credits
Section titled “Buying additional credits”If you run out before your billing date, purchase additional credit packs:
| Pack | Price | Credits |
|---|---|---|
| Small | £10 | 50 |
| Medium | £30 | 200 |
| Large | £60 | 500 |
To purchase:
- Go to Settings > Billing.
- Click Buy Credits.
- Select a pack size.
- Complete the payment.
Credits from purchased packs are added immediately and do not expire at your billing date — they carry over until used.
Low credit notifications
Section titled “Low credit notifications”RAMSdoc notifies you when credits are running low:
| Threshold | Notification |
|---|---|
| 20% remaining | Dashboard banner and email to Admins/Owners |
| 0 credits | All AI features disabled. Dashboard alert. Email notification. |
When credits run out
Section titled “When credits run out”When your organisation reaches zero credits:
- AI features are disabled (generation, hazard ID, compliance scoring, etc.)
- Documents can still be created, edited, and approved manually
- Existing AI-generated content is not affected
- Automatic compliance checks on contractor submissions are paused
- Free features (smart questioning, duplicate detection, investigation packs) still work
Credits are restored when your monthly allowance resets or you purchase a credit pack.
Tips for efficient usage
Section titled “Tips for efficient usage”- Refine (1 credit) instead of regenerate (5 credits) — if most of the document is good, improve individual sections rather than starting over
- Suggest controls (1 credit) not full hazard ID (2 credits) — when you know which hazard needs better controls
- Build from templates or duplicates — for repeat work, avoid regenerating from scratch each time
- Fix obvious issues before compliance scoring — correct clear gaps manually so the compliance check is more useful and does not flag things you already know about
- Monitor team usage — if one team member is using disproportionate credits, they may benefit from training on efficient AI use
